Our mission
We decided to create a product that was not only carbon neutral and designed to last a lifetime , but that also returned 1% of the resources used to the environment and in the areas of the world where it is most necessary to intervene.
To date, the entire production chain is concentrated in Northern Italy, the cradle of industrial eyewear, and uses only local suppliers and materials. Furthermore, for each eyewear made, we plant a tree in Guatemala to compensate for the CO2 produced and we support the education of local populations.

WE COMPENSATE CO2
For each frame produced, Poplar Shade undertakes to plant a tree with ZeroCO2 to compensate for the CO2 generated during each working phase, from production to transport.
We have chosen to give our customers the opportunity to redeem their personal tree and receive updates on their state of health and on the positive impact generated: from compensated CO2 up to the kg of fruit produced.

NATURAL MATERIALS
We only use natural materials such as Italian bioacetate and ethically harvested horn. All our materials are of the best quality and totally biodegradable once their life cycle is over, aside of their metallic components.
WE HAVE A VISION
We have chosen to use Bio-Nylon lenses that guarantee total protection from UVA / UVB rays and a weight reduction of 30% compared to the more common CR39 lenses. Furthermore, Bio-Nylon has a strong biodegradable component of vegetable origin.
WE PRODUCE RESPONSIBLY
Each pair of glasses is numbered and produced in limited and controlled quantities. In this way we do not overproduce and we guarantee a more transparent production chain.
Sustainable supply chain
Every material used for packaging and wrapping is biodegradable or recycled. We only use certified reforestation wood and FSC recycled paper. Furthermore, all our suppliers are located within a radius of 300km from our headquarters.
For everyone’s benefit
For each eyewear produced we plant a tree to compensate for the CO2 generated during processing and transport; for each frame sold, a percentage of the proceeds will be donated to Comparte Onlus.
